The Saudi Council of Engineers is set to organise the “Engineering and Quality of Life" Forum, in strategic partnership with the Quality of Life Program, under the patronage of HE Majid Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing. The event will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh on 16th-17th December.

HE Eng Ahmed bin Turais Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Council of Engineers, announced the Forum stating: “The Forum aims to make an effective contribution to supporting the goals and initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in terms of quality of life. It will highlight topics related to quality of life from an engineering perspective by bringing together leading entities and experts for discussions."

He added that the Forum would serve as a platform for engineers and quality of life professionals to exchange ideas, experiences, and knowledge about the latest innovations and advancements in the field. The event will review exemplary quality of life models witnessed in the Kingdom, present new engineering and technical projects that contribute to enhancing quality of life, and promote awareness of the engineering sector's role in addressing health, environmental, and social challenges.

The Chairman underscored that engineering plays a crucial role in boosting quality of life, yielding significant economic and social benefits. By designing engineering projects to high standards, the sector helps improve living conditions, foster a healthy and safe environment, stimulate economic growth, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in achieving a vibrant society, ambitious homeland, and prosperous economy.

He also highlighted that Riyadh's selection as the host city reflects its ongoing transformation into a global city with an elevated quality of life. This transformation involves the integration of public and private sector efforts to create an attractive, sustainable environment.

Eng Ahmed Al-Sheikh pointed out that the Forum is intended for engineers, engineering company owners, architects, urban planners, government representatives from housing and urban planning departments, real estate developers, investors interested in quality of life and sustainable infrastructure projects, technology firms, and smart solution providers. Students and trainee engineers are also encouraged to attend. Eng Al-Sheikh urged all to participate in the Forum and take advantage of the panel discussions, workshops, and presentations on new engineering and technical projects.

The Forum will feature four key panel discussions. The first panel, The Quality of Life Impact on Empowering Government Entities: Opportunities and Challenges, will focus on the potential and challenges for improving government services through quality of life projects and the contributions of the engineering sector in achieving shared objectives.
