The Saudi Council of Engineers and the Diriyah Gate Development Authority signed a MoU aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two parties in various areas. This includes advancing policies and regulations, enhancing the role of inspection and monitoring, streamlining procedures related to permits and licenses, exchanging data and expertise, and working on joint projects and initiatives.
The memorandum was signed by Engineer Abdulmohsen Al-Majnouni, Secretary-General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, and Mr. Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority. The agreement calls for unified efforts and simplified procedures between the two sides, with an emphasis on ensuring quality, boosting efficiency, maintaining continuity, and fostering flexibility in overcoming challenges.
The MoU aims to strengthen the relationship between the two entities by exchanging relevant statistics, studies, and research to achieve their goals and aspirations. It also contributes to the execution of joint projects and initiatives to ensure the realization of both parties' objectives. Furthermore, the two sides agreed to form a joint working team to activate cooperation in shared areas, such as harmonizing the qualification and classification of professional offices under the jurisdiction of the Saudi Council of Engineers and developing mechanisms for granting licenses and permits required for service providers within the supervisory scope of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority.
Commenting on the importance of the memorandum, Engineer Abdulmohsen Al- Majnouni, Secretary-General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, stated that the partnership will help achieve shared goals aligned with sustainable development standards. He emphasized that the memorandum will strengthen Diriyah's position as a leading cultural and historical destination in the region and worldwide, while also raising cultural and historical awareness connected to engineering.
On his part, Mr. Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, highlighted that the agreement would support the authority's regulatory role by facilitating licensing, permit procedures, and monitoring. This will help showcase Diriyah's historical roots as the birthplace of the Saudi state and its unique architectural features, offering a distinctive experience for visitors from around the globe. The collaboration aligns with the authority's goals, activating its contributions to urban, cultural, tourism, and economic development, and enhancing governance between the two parties.
