The Saudi Council of Engineers is to hold the International Engineering Conference and Exhibition under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, in Riyadh in early next December, with the participation of 211 speakers, representing 32 countries. The event is considered the largest engineering convention across Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Bassam Ghulman, SCE Vice President and Technical Committee Chairman emphasized that this conference aims to promote standards of engineering, transmit information, and cope with the latest engineering challenges and innovations, in line with Vision 2030 of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Key internal and external participants include, namely and most importantly, Eng. Khalid Al Faleh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman, President for Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, and Dr. Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister of Egypt.
SCE will tackle many key engineering topics across 12 categories of a number of engineering fields. One of the most important objectives of the conference is creating a suitable environment that facilitates information exchange, reinforces communication between engineers and helps build joint practical relationships between all participants of the conference. Speakers will submit around 200 working papers that discuss a number of major topics in 19 engineering specializations, including green building, water desalination, mining engineering and geology, architectural heritage, architectural engineering, renewable energy, project management, safety engineering, communications, operation and maintenance, and other categories that encompass many key topics. The conference will play a significant role in bridging the gap between engineering institutions, academics, organizations, associations and technology providers.
The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition, to which remarkable global engineering companies, agencies, and sectors are invited to participate and display the world's latest technology. This will contribute to producing more knowledge and transmitting engineering experience and practices of those participating in the conference and the exhibition, so that all participants can reach an advanced level in the technical and engineering field.
