​Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is looking forward to developing engineering profession and empowering engineers and engineering establishments to reach ideal solutions and increasing level of education and performance, encouraging creativity and inventions in order to achieve exalted position. SCE is also willing to gain qualified and skillful engineers so as to effectively enhance national economy in the Kingdom.
SCE is focusing on implementing a vision of certain objectives. In achieving such goals, SCE is following specific strategy as per the following:​

1. Research and Development (R&D).
2. Participating in governmental committees.
3. Participating in social awareness campaigns in terms of engineering and technical issues.

Based on the above, Department of Engineering section was established  and boards of branches of SCE.

Engineering Chapters:

Engineering Chapters is considered backbone and scientific arm of SCE. Throughout these sections, the following were achieved:

• Empowering engineering sections to communicate with each other.
• Conducting scientific events and participating at them.
• Achieving cooperation with local and international universities and other academic entities.
• Following up implementing programs.

Engineering sections are currently consisting of 14 sections in accordance with election process on sections and there is still some other sections are under constructions:

1. Civil engineering section.
2. Electrical engineering section.
3. Mechanical engineering section.
4. Building section.
5. Industrial engineering section.
6. Computer system section.
7. Mining and geology engineering section.
8. Engineering arbitration section.
9. Value engineering section.
10.  Operation and maintenance section.
11.  Project management section.
12. Green buildings section.
13.  Water desalination section.
14. Architecture heritage section.

Boards of branches:

In accordance with resolution of the board of directors no. 34\4\11\7 at meeting no. (11) dated 20/04/1434 H stating  a new policy of opening boards of branches at several regions. This directive is effective to achieve SCE vision in the field of board work as per the following:

Vision:

Developing engineering profession and engineers skills.

Objectives:

Building unique and qualified engineers.

In order to achieve this, the following strategy should be followed:

1. Research and Development (R&D).
2. Participating in governmental committees.
   
    
3. Participating in social awareness campaigns in terms of engineering and technical issues.
