New procedures for issuance of building permits in Riyadh- The role and responsibility of engineering offices and their accountability mechanism.

 
The Saudi Council of Engineers hereby extends its warmest greetings, out of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 to level up the Kingdom from the 15th to the 1st place in the Global Competitiveness Index, and in order to assert the role of engineers and engineering and consultancy offices in contributing to the development of strategic plans, programs and operational plans to achieve these goals,
A working group headed by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the membership of each service entities related to building permits, simplified the procedures for issuing building permits and re-arranging the procedures to achieve the objectives. These procedures were reviewed at the workshop held in Riyadh on Thursday 26/05/1438 AH (23/02/ 2017 AD).
 Therefore, we attach to you the steps and sequence of procedures for issuing building permits, certificate of completion and delivery of services to the building, hoping to see and instruct compliance and abide by the official authorities’ requirements shown in the link below. Engineering and Consultancy Offices will be responsible for any violations of regulations and requirements in the drawings submitted by them. The Supervising Engineer will be responsible for the violation of regulations and requirements in the implementation phase.
