The Saudi Council of Engineers organized a workshop in Dhahran, to introduce the Saudi Council of Engineers’ effective role in regulating the engineering profession in various sectors, in addition to its efforts to develop the professional practices in the KSA and its plans for strategic transformation to achieve its vision and goals, in cooperation with the Dhahran Techno Valley Holding Company (DTVC), a leader in technology and innovation.
The workshop was opened by the secretary general of the SCE, Eng. Abdulmohsen Almajnouni and Dr. Ammar Al-Nahwi, CEO of DTVC, with the participation of a group of expert speakers in the field, including Dr. Abdullah Sultan, Dean of Scientific Research at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and Mr. Khaled Al-Sadoon, General Manager of Baker Hughes company, and a number of engineers in the Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia.
The workshop included a panel discussion on several topics, including developing young engineering talents as a strategic enabler for the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, strategies for attracting engineering talents, the role of education and training in preparing future engineers, and the most important challenges and opportunities for development and career advancement paths for engineers.
The session was moderated by Consultant Walid Al-Somali, with the participation of Engineer secretary general of the SCE, Eng. Abdulmohsen Almajnouni, Dr. Ammar Al-Nahwi, CEO of DTVC, Mr. Sunwoong Choi, Admin Manager of Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd.,in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Abdulaziz Alburea, Human Resource Manager of Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The workshop concluded with the signing of a joint cooperation agreement between the Saudi Council of Engineers and Hyundai Engineering, which has an effective role in the engineering sector. The agreement aims to develop employment programs and benefits from the electronic platforms of the Saudi Council of Engineers, such as the “Mo'ahal”, to attract national competencies licensed by the Saudi Council of Engineers, in addition to allowing the company’s employees to benefit from training courses, provided by the Saudi Council of Engineers, and joint cooperation in holding conferences and exhibitions.
