On Monday, April 14, 2025 (corresponding to 16 Shawwal 1446 AH), the Secretary-General of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), Eng. Abdulmohsen Al-Majnouni, welcomed a Dutch commercial delegation specializing in climate-neutral real estate at the Council's headquarters in Riyadh. The visit took place on the sidelines of the workshop organized by SCE under the theme: “Climate-Neutral Real Estate."
The event was attended by His Excellency Mr. Hans Peter van der Woude, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Saudi Arabia, as well as Mr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority, along with senior executives and members of the SCE.
Prior to the workshop, a brief meeting was held between the Secretary-General of the SCE and the Dutch Ambassador to discuss areas of cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
In his opening remarks, Eng. Al-Majnouni welcomed the Dutch delegation and emphasized the strong economic and commercial ties between Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands. He affirmed the Council's keenness to strengthen international collaboration with relevant entities to support the advancement of the engineering sector in the Kingdom.
The Secretary-General also provided a comprehensive overview of the Council's achievements, ongoing initiatives, and its regulatory role in the Saudi engineering ecosystem. Discussions during the session explored opportunities for collaboration and outlined potential areas of joint work between the two sides.
In his remarks, the Dutch Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the SCE for organizing the workshop and underscored the strength of bilateral relations and ongoing cooperation across various sectors.
The workshop featured extensive dialogue between the Dutch delegation and representatives of several Saudi and Dutch companies and entities. The Dutch side delivered a presentation on the Climate-Neutral Real Estate Consortium, while Saudi participants, including the Saudi Contractors Authority, shared presentations highlighting sustainable practices in the real estate sector.
This engagement aligns with the strategic objectives of the Saudi Council of Engineers, which include fostering international cooperation, building partnerships with professional bodies, exchanging knowledge and experiences, and showcasing global best practices in sustainable real estate, all in support of a robust and future-ready engineering sector in the Kingdom.
